In order to move some weight further back (and lower down) in the chassis, I’ve got a GT6 fuel tank. Originally I’d planned to have a fuel filler in the wing like a GT6, but I’ve had real difficulty getting a pressing to weld in the wing. So, I decided it would be easier to relocate the filler neck so that I could use the original Spitfire centre of rear deck fuel filler.
Cue some angle grinding and filing (I bought a hole saw in the right size but it turned out to be made of cheese) and a little bit of methodical welding to ensure there were no gaps and job done!
Now I just need to weld in pickup pipe as the stock one for the GT6 won’t flow enough to keep the PI system happy...
